Paradise Adventist Church- Love Paradise- Paradise Adventist Church, in partnership with Love Paradise, is offering a grocery assistance and delivery program for Camp Fire survivors affected by the COVID-19 crisis. This service is free (for groceries up to $50) and requires registration. Please Note: Camp Fire survivors may access the Love Delivers program twice per month for grocery assistance. However, if a survivor would like access to free-delivery, Love Delivery may accommodate that service once per week. Holiday Market is willing to accept CalFresh for the amount above $50, however, Camp Fire survivors must go to the store themselves to complete the transaction. Please use the following steps:

  1. Complete the Love Delivers application please at the following link: https://bit.ly/2VMxQww   
  2. Receive Initial Email from Love Delivers-either acceptance or denial into program
  3. Email grocery list to lovedelivers@paradiseadventist.org with your full name and date in the subject line
  4. You will receive $50 worth of grocery assistance through Holiday Market. If your grocery bill goes above $50, Love Delivers will process a credit or debit card for the difference.
  5. Your groceries will be delivered for free as soon as full-payment has been received.

Food Bank of Contra Costa and SolanoProviding food to anyone in need, no questions asked. Food items available to participants will vary at each distribution but always include shelf stable milk, grains, a protein source, and fresh fruit or vegetables. This pantry will be operational as long as there is a demonstrated need from the community. No restrictions, anyone in need will be provided food. No ID is necessary. **COVID-19 Update- The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano will maintain operations as a drive-thru distribution in order to maintain social distancing. Participants are encouraged not to leave their cars in order to assist in maintaining the safety of those distributing food**

Distribution of groceries will take place at the following location and time:

  • In CHICO: At the Butte College Chico Campus, 2320 Forest Avenue. WHEN: 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month from 11am-1pm

Center for Healthy Communities- CalFresh Outreach – SSI Expansion- On May 1st, 2019, applications will open to SSI recipients to apply for CalFresh benefits. SSI Recipients may receive CalFresh Food benefits on an EBT Card beginning June 1st, 2019. Those that are newly eligible for CalFresh benefits, and are in need of assistance completing an application for CalFresh, can set up an appointment with the CalFresh Outreach program at the Center for Healthy Communities. Appointments can be scheduled over the phone by dialing 530-345-9749, or by making an appointment in person at 25 Main Street, Chico. The office is open Monday- Friday from 8 am – 5 pm.  Applications are available online at GetCalFresh.org

Summary of Changes for Pre-Existing CalFresh Households:

  • Still Eligible for CalFresh, More Food Benefits : If adding the SSI recipient increases a household’s CalFresh food benefits, they will simply receive more CalFresh food benefits on their existing EBT card. 
  • Still Eligible for CalFresh, Less Food Benefits : If adding the SSI recipient reduces a household’s CalFresh food benefits, they will be eligible to receive a state-funded nutrition benefit called the Supplemental Nutrition Benefit (SNB) on their existing EBT card. 
  • Ineligible for CalFresh Food Benefits: If adding the SSI recipient leads to a total loss of CalFresh food benefits, they will be eligible to receive a state-funded nutrition benefit called the Transitional Nutrition Benefit (TNB) on their existing EBT card.

First Christian Church – Paradise Offering food to individuals and families. Food pantry will be operated as a drive-thru distribution, and participants will remain in their car throughout the food distribution process. All are welcome, and anyone in need can receive dry goods, water, canned foods, snacks, and produce. Food distribution will depend on family size. Food will be provided while supplies last. Available in Paradise (5738 Pentz Road, Paradise – Corner of Pearson and Pentz Road) every Saturday from 11am-1pm, every Sunday (after church) Noon – 2pm or until supplies run out.  **COVID-19 Update- First Christian Church Food Distribution will be operated as a drive-thru distribution, and participants will remain in their car throughout the food distribution process.**

Paradise Alliance ChurchCommunity DinnerOffering a free dinner to the ridge community every Thursday night from 5:30pm-6:30 pm.  The Paradise Alliance Church Community Dinner is available to Camp Fire survivors and all interested individuals.  COVID-19 Update- The Church office is temporarily closed, and the phone will not be answered at this time. Questions and requests for more information may be directed to the church via email to churchoffice@paradisecma.org . Meals can be picked up at the North Side Drive-Thru at 6491 Clark Road, Paradise 95969.

Community Action Agency – North State Food Bank Distribution – Food commodities distribution schedule. First come, first serve. Please note: the “City” does not indicate WHERE the food will be distributed, but rather who the food is intended for. Locations will have commodities for intended city.**COVID-19 Update– All currently scheduled distribution events through the North State Food Bank of the Community Action Agency will be maintained. The North State Food Bank will increase the amount of food available to seniors and families in need. Those attending all food distribution events are encouraged to practice safe distancing and sanitizing of hands to minimize the spread of COVID-19.** Changes to the Distribution Schedule are happening frequently, please see facebook page for updates to scheduled distribution events:

Salvation Army OrovilleFood Pantry- Offering non-perishable food available to fire survivors and those in need in Oroville. This resource is only open to Oroville residents and fire survivors living in Oroville. Photo ID and proof of income will be required, and Fire Survivors will be asked to provide FEMA paperwork. Located at 1640 Washington Avenue, Oroville 95966. Open Monday-Thursday 9am -12pm noon and 1pm – 3pm. **COVID-19 Update- Distribution will take place outside of the building.**

Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish Hall Food ClosetFood Items are available Tuesday through Thursday 9:30 am to 11:30am to everyone including survivors of the Camp Fire.  Please bring photo ID, FEMA paperwork, or insurance paperwork to demonstrate fire impact. Also open to any Gridley resident. Food closet located at 1561 Hazel St. Gridley 95948, across from the Sacred Heart Parish Catholic Church.

Paradise First Baptist ChurchFood PantryOffering a food pantry open to all fire survivors and those in need. Families can pick up a box of groceries, bottled drinking water, and prayer is also offered. No restrictions. ID is not required. Open Tuesdays and Fridays from 12pm (noon)- 4pm. Located at First Baptist Church in Paradise, 6500 Clark Road, Paradise 95969. **COVID-19 Update- The food pantry will be operated as a drive-thru pantry in order to practice necessary social distancing. The drive thru food pantry will be available Tuesday and Friday from noon to 4pm.**

Yuba-Sutter Food BankOffering surplus goods for distribution. Yuba-Sutter food bank provides USDA commodities, as well as produce, and dairy if available. This is an ongoing event that occurs every Friday from 10am – 12pm. Charitable organizations, disadvantaged persons, and all Camp Fire survivors. Camp Fire survivors will be required to show proof of residency in any FEMA group site or FEMA provided housing. Food distribution will take place in a warehouse at the following address:760 Stafford Way, Yuba City 95991

Magalia Community Church – Camp Fire Survivor Resource Center- **COVID-19 Update- Magalia Community Church remains open for Camp Fire survivors to receive food. Survivors may receive food Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11am to 3pm. Due to COVID-19, distribution will be offered through a drive thru. Please note: at this time clothing, household and furniture distribution will not be available. Distribution days will only provide food.** Fire survivors should bring a photo ID such as a California Driver’s License or California ID and proof of impact. Services and distribution are located both in the historic church building and the parking lot of the historic Old Magalia Church (otherwise known as Magalia Community Church) at 13700 Old Skyway, Magalia, CA 95954.  Camp Fire Survivors may access MCC services once a week.  Please call the church ahead for supply availability at 530-877-7963, please note: the phone will only be answered during MCC’s normal hours of operation. located at: 13700 Old Skyway, Magalia, CA 95954
